CMA ANNOUNCEMENT: COUNTRYSIDE

Current leaseholders

If you own a lease where the developer was Countryside and the lease includes a clause which states, or if previously varied, stated, that the ground rent will double every fifteen years, you may qualify under our clients' commitments to the CMA. These commitments include offering to vary the terms of your lease so that the ground rent you will now pay will not be greater than the amount paid when your lease was first entered into.

We wrote to homeowners of the relevant leases in April 2022 with an offer to vary the terms of their leases and a copy of our client’s offer can be viewed in the Documents section of your Homeowner Online Services account once you log into it.

Former leaseholders

If you previously owned a lease where the developer was Countryside, the lease included a clause which stated that the ground rent will double every fifteen years, and the rent was increased in line with the lease, you may qualify for a refund.
